Remembering Mom

Sunday May 8 - Mother's Day
Our Mother's Day window was done today..just one more week until Mom's special day! This vintage Lloyd Loom wicker chair would make any Mom smile. The perfect seat for patio or even the bedroom.

These 1940's satin pillows were commonly given to Mom from their son's during the war. This one has a brand new insert. The colors are stunning, but we only have one!

If she has to dry the dishes, she might as well be using a pretty towel, fit for a queen! We have assorted prints and these are always a hit, paired with our hand poured soaps. Both made right here in the U.S.A.

We have a table FULL of great gifts for Mom!

Flower cuffs from a local jewelry artist..so many styles to choose from!

The BEST soaps, and I can say this because I have seen first hand how addicting they can be! I will never again go back to store bought soap! Choose from Lemon Verbena, Citrus, Crumb Cake, Black Forest, Morning in Provence and Fig & Vine. Beautifully boxed and wrapped.

A pair of vintage Italian tole sconces

Love love love these cherub lamps, which would also make the sweetest statues!

Time For A Change!

I haven't been to the shop in 3 days, and things sure can change in a matter of days, and change is GOOD!

Our iron dining set has found a new home, so it's time to bring back the summer porch swing. We just love this swing..it returns each year and it reminds us of lazy summer days on the porch, watching the world go by. It's the perfect spot for our pillows too. :)

Embellished Bottles

We always carry an assortment of vintage bottles that are embellished with components such as crowns, mermaid, seahorses and rhinestones. Here are a few that I just finished up on Wednesday.

(Above bottle sold)
This vintage flask bottle is my favorite..love the frosty purple glass. The mermaid has lassoed a seahorse. This bottle is permanently fixed to a barnacle since the glass bottom was uneven and could not stand on it's own.

This purple bottle has a printed postcard image of a 1930's bathing beauty, trimmed in tiny pink rhinestones. I added a beautiful vintage pearl earring top surrounded by rhinestones. Sand and tiny seashells are locked away inside.

This tiny purple glass bottle had a rhinestone studded crown and key. Simple and sweet. (sold)

A newer aqua bottle was embellished with a scrolly metal hardware piece from a drawer pull, an old key and a gold metal crown.

Mermaid bottle by local San Diego artist D. Cooley.

Buster-At Your Service!

We meet new fur friends nearly every day here at the shop...but a few of leave a more lasting impression...like Buster. A Miniature Schnauzer service dog. He receives 4 paws up for that! He even totes a little fire hydrant that holds his dootie bags. It says Bags On Board..hilarious.

Buster has his own shoes, his own backpack, AND custom made sunglasses (which he didn't have with him that day) His Mom told me he likes to backpack with her, so he needs all those things. :) Oh Buster...you stole my heart.

Mr.Sandman

I caught my first glimpse of Mr. Sandman one day last week as he was just starting a design on the busy main street in town. I made a U-turn just to snap a picture of him but I was too far away to get a nice shot. Armed with a bucket of sand, a broom & dustpan, he creates his magic on the streets of Coronado for all to enjoy.

I was able to find some other photos take of him recently to share. Alberto Avila has been bringing smiles on the streets of Coronado for 6 years.
