School Days

Our first week at the new shop went by in a flash! I guess that means we are having too much fun. :) We've been super busy and have already changed the window display this weekend! It's back to school at The Attic. Come on by.. we just received some new arrivals in hats and scarves, some fun vintage books, a vintage child's rolltop desk, school chair and even a teacher wearing her red plaid cape. Vintage flash cards line the floor. We have 3 full boxes of vintage flash cards.

Our beautiful blue birdcage, which was the centerpiece of our first window display has found a new home. Goodbye first window display...you were beautiful while you lasted.

We are now carrying hats for babies and young children. Pictured are just a few styles we are carrying at the moment. We'll be receiving more styles at the end of this week!

The Attic Has Opened It's Second Location!

We opened our second location this past Saturday August 20th and had a record turn out with nearly 400 people through the doors!

Our guestbook was a vintage photograph book from 1920.
The photos were missing, but I plan to add photos taken from our opening.

She's The Best

One Industrial Table..coming right up!

It was rusty..it was crusty, but now it's dreamy with just a hint of it's old coat. He worked on it a few hours for 2 evenings. And I thought all it would take was a wire brush! lol..silly me.

and to Tina for finding it and selling it to us! Tina is the best when it comes to finding those diamonds in the rough. She sells at Vignette's in Ocean Beach and the Irvine Flea Market!

Buddy's New Hat

Well...not exactly. One of our very favorite customers came in tonight and was telling me about a little photo shoot she had with her pooch, Buddy wearing one of our newsboy caps. Isn't he a cutie? Awww..Buddy was a good sport. Thanks for sharing with us Maria!

Shop Update

Please excuse the ladders, plastic and paint buckets...we've been busy!
Rolling, rolling, rolling...

The walls are painted..the ceiling fans are up and running. Now it's time to start bringing in our key display pieces and setting up the vignettes. We're moving as quickly as we can and are looking forward to opening the doors! We are shooting for next week, so let's keep our fingers and toes crossed. :) Saturday August 20th

..that make my day. I wish I had known she was writing this. I would have given her another clam for her collection! What a sweet note she left us in our guest book, and an even sweeter name!

It's Official

With key in hand and plans twirling in our heads, we'll be busy busy busy over the next few weeks as we prepare to open up our second location on Orange Ave...just around the corner from our shop on Tenth St. Most of you are probably unaware that The Attic was operating out of this very location for 10 years before it was sold in 2007. It's been a dream of ours to be back and now it's becoming reality.

You won't see as many updates here, but I promise to show you a few snaps along the way as shop #2 takes form. Painting begins this week, designing the layout of the shop has only been in my head for weeks, but it's beginning to take shape on paper. We've ordered some fun new merchandise and we can't wait to show you! When you ask? We have no set date, but I will post it here on the blog and facebook just as soon as we know. Stay tuned kiddos!
