Mother Dear Celebration at The Attic
We are looking forward to seeing you this Saturday May 2nd, as we celebrate Mother's Day a week early! We will be closing at 4pm on Friday to prepare for the next day's event. Our in house artists will be setting up their displays, and we have a special guest artist who we have added to the lineup since mailing our invites. We've decided to keep her our little secret!
Remember to come early to be one of the first 10 customers to receive a free gift from The Attic Girls. You can also enter our drawing for a $50 Attic spending spree! We will announce the winner on Sunday right here on the blog.
We have many wonderful gifts for Mother, both vintage and new, so come on down and pick up a gift for Mother Dear. Since Mother's Day is a week away, you can relax for the week knowing your shopping is complete!

La Maison Rustique
The Attic Girls hit the trail to Temecula today, for La Maison Rustique's Barn Sale. We have been hearing great things about the barn, and we had so much fun! I'm really tired after the drive, but promise to upload the pictures over the next day or so. We brought home lots of treasures, and hope to make the trek back! The sales are held once a month and you can check the dates on their blog.
Look at what I brought home!

Welcome To The Garden
Shirley & Jerry Castellanos were the gracious hosts this past weekend for a relaxing weekend of fun and sales.
They opened up their home, an outside cottage, and there were vendors in the garden.
Shirley LOVES her garden and has put her heart and soul into it the last 3 years. When they moved in , everything was dead. Not a green blade of grass or flower in the garden. It's so beautiful now!
As we were enjoying our lunch, a bluejay visited the bird bath near us. I scrambled to get my camera and as soon as I took this, he flew.
This antique bed foot board once graced her fireplace. I would have never thought of that one!
Shirley admires one of her roses.
Cottage Garden Sale will be held the 3rd weekend of each month.

The 3/50 Project
I'm a supporter...are you? A few days ago, I received an email with a link to the 3/50 Project home page. What a fantastic idea, and so simple to pass on this message. Support your local economy, three stores at a time. The idea is to commit $50 each month to locally owned businesses, total. Maybe that means rethinking where you currently invest your money, opting to pick up that birthday card or pair of jeans in a locally owned business instead of the big box you’ve been going to. Or maybe it means eating out once a month because you realize slamming the breaks on all spending stalls economic recovery. It’s just that simple.

A Cottage Garden Sale
The Attic Girls will be hosting a monthly Cottage Garden Sale with our good friend, Shirley Castellanos. We met Shirley a few years ago when she was a dealer at The Corner Store in La Jolla, and it has been her dream to have a garden antique sale for quite sometime now. We are so thrilled to be a part of it! Our premier event will be held from Thursday April 16th through Sunday April 19th. Shirley's darling cottage garden is the perfect place to spend a relaxing day shopping and making new friends! There will be vintage home furnishings, collectibles , new home decor and one of a kind handmades. Hope to see you there!

Our Spring Celebration
Sorry it's taken me so long to post on our Spring Celebration! It seems there are never enough hours in the day, so I put the blog on the back burner. I will try to get back into the swing of things!
A vintage porch swing looks so inviting, doesn't it?
Home Is Where Your Story Begins & Bark Cloth Pillows by Pam Small.
Our shopping bags were graced with a paper copy of the invitation.
The hydrangeas were blooming...
...and so were the tulips.
We unveiled our Spring window for all to enjoy. This window might be our all time favorite. We have received more positive comments from customers and passer byers than any other window. I wish it could stay all summer long!
Our first customers of the day!
Sweet Dana of Tutumonkey and her darling daughter Sarah.
Our antique iron crib was loaded with our newest pillows! Our very own Attic Girl Kandi got busy on the sewing machine and whipped up a stack of pillows on the crib from vintage ticking, Battenburg & Bark Cloth.
Pam Small has been the store's pillow maker for years, and she made a pair from a vintage dresser scarf. LOVE the birds and the embroidery. She also embroiders special sentiments on our pillows such as the one pictured on the swing. It says " Home Is Where Your Story Begins" You can meet Pam at the store on Saturday May 2nd, and she will be taking special orders that day!
The man behind the scenes (Jon) made us this potting bench and he recylced an old window. He does our painting and can make just about anything we ask! One of these days, I will have to get his picture for you.
(You can click on any image to enlarge)
Other new arrivals introduced were these french dancing girls on board.
There are 4 different ones, each priced separately but they look great as a group.
More bamboo mats arrived, just in the nick of time!
Tamerie was kind enough to model some of our vintage hats. She did ask me to add a disclaimer that she was not wearing a smidge of makeup...:)
Visit us at The Attic in Coronado. If you see anything that tickles your fancy, you may call us or email us for more information.
